Dr. McCarthy has been with UT since 2013. She is the director of the UT Augmentative
and Alternative Communication, Language, and Literacy (UT-AACL) laboratory, and the
co-director of the Language and Literacy Laboratory (L3). Her research addresses language
and literacy assessment and intervention strategies for those individuals who rely
on the use of AAC or who have hearing loss.
