Leanne Widmer first worked at UT in 2014. After taking some time away with her children,
she returned to UT’s Early Intervention Services/Pediatric Language Clinic in 2025.
Ms. Widmer provides direct home-based services to families of children enrolled in
the Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS) with social-communication delays, developmental
delays, indicators for autism or an autism diagnosis. Her interests include augmentative
and alternative communication (AAC), sensory integration, caregiver-mediated intervention,
and social-communication development. She is passionate about supporting caregivers
as they seek to advocate for their child and optimize their child’s learning and communication
skills.Â
