Areas of Evaluation
- The Ob or Gyn Mid-month Feedback form is completed by a Resident/Attending/Fellow the student worked with consistently.  It will not count towards a student’s overall grade but is used for feedback and to identify problem areas.
- Residents and Faculty provide students with feedback via a QR code through Microsoft Forms – This feedback is gathered by the Clerkship Director/Assistant Clerkship Director and incorporated into the student’s final Evaluation form.
- One (1) Evaluation is required. Â It is completed online in e-Medley by the Clerkship Director or Assistant Clerkship Director. Â Areas of evaluation: Â Differential Diagnosis, Recommend & Interpret tests, Â Handovers, Recognize & Initiate Urgent Care, Informed Consent, Perform general procedures, and Professionalism.
- Students will be able to view their completed Evaluation in e-Medley.
- Components of Grade: Â Evaluation, NBME Shelf Exam, Patient Presentation
- Any additional Faculty or Resident input can alter a student's Grade. Final decisions rest with the Clerkship Director.
Specific Criteria
Student must pass the clinical activities, NBME Exam, and Patient Presentation.Â
- Failure in clinical activities will require repeating the Clerkship.
-  Failing the NBME Exam will require retaking the exam. The original NBME Exam score and the make-up exam score will be averaged to reach a composite exam score.  The student's final Clerkship Grade cannot be higher than a “B.â€
Feedback
- Take the initiative to obtain feedback from Faculty and Residents and Mid-Month feedback from a Resident/Faculty/Fellow.
- If a student is identified as performing less than satisfactorily (less than passing), he/she will be counseled by the Clerkship Director.
Evaluation of Clerkship
- Students provide feedback on Faculty lectures and evaluate 3 Residents at the end of the Clerkship. Â Feedback will be summarized and communicated to the respective staff. Â This feedback will be used to help determine the Outstanding Resident Teaching Award, as well as other interdepartmental teaching awards. Â Student evaluator identities will not be apparent.
- Students evaluate the Clerkship (Course/Clerkship Evaluation) online via Qualtrics. Â The link is emailed to each student the last week of the Clerkship. Â Student evaluator identities will not be apparent.
- Lectures and discussion sessions with the Clerkship Director will allow for generic discussions of Clerkship problems or issues.
- Individual concerns may be directed to the Clerkship Director or Assistant Clerkship Director at any time.
