The Social Determinants of Health are the conditions in which people work, live, and play that impact a person's health and the healthcare they receive. Healthcare providers must be able to identify and address the negative impact of these determinants. As such, faculty must be able to teach their students about the social determinants of health and how to effectively address these issues.Ìý

Recipients of the SDoH medallion will learn about these determinants and the negative impact they can have, and pedagogical strategies used to teach SDoH including experiential, collaborative, and service learning.
