Pavel Aksionav, MD
Bio
Meet Pavel Aksionav, a compassionate physician from Belarus. After graduating from
Vitebsk State Medical University, Pavel pursued his passion for medicine in the United
States. He completed his internal medicine residency at UTHSC and discovered his calling
in hematology/oncology. Pavel chose this blooming specialty to make a meaningful impact
on the lives of millions in the US. Outside of medicine, Pavel enjoys traveling and
plans to visit all 50 states. He also finds joy in reading, walking his dog, and spending
time with his loved ones.
Natasha Amjed, MD
Bio
Dr. Natasha Amjed is excited to continue her medical training in Tennessee. She was
born in Lahore, Pakistan and grew up in Boston, MA and Birmingham, AL. She attended
medical school at the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then completed
her internal medicine residence training in Chattanooga, TN as well as a chief year.
Dr. Amjed enjoys rock climbing with her adventurous fiancé, cooking, traveling, and
yoga. Â
Omar Mohammed, MD
Bio
Dr. Mohammed grew up in Murfreesboro, TN where he completed undergraduate studies
in Physics at MTSU. He then moved to Memphis for to complete medical school and Internal
Medicine residency at UTHSC. He worked at Northwestern Palos hospital in the Chicago
suburbs after completion of residency. He is excited to return to Memphis for Hematology
and Oncology fellowship. He is married and enjoys football and technology.
Srishti Sareen, MD
Chief Fellow
Bio
Dr. Srishti Sareen comes from a family of physicians. She completed her medical school
in India and started her medical journey in the USA with oncology rotations at MGH
hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston. She then continued to work in Thoracic Oncology
at Baptist Cancer Center and stayed in Memphis to complete Internal Medicine Residency
at UTHSC. Her husband also trained at UT and is now working as an endovascular neurologist
in Memphis. Together they have 3-year-old twin girls. Dr. Sareen loves to travel and
explore regional cuisines with her family. A trained classical dancer, she is also
passionate about cooking, hosting and enjoys being a twin mommy!Â

Baylor Bishop, MD
Bio
Dr. Bishop is originally from Murfreesboro, TN. He received undergraduate degrees
in Biomedical Sciences and Spanish from Auburn University. He worked as a medical
interpreter prior to moving to Memphis, TN for medical school. He and his wife pursued
residency at UTHSC, during which time he developed a passion for hematology and oncology.
In his spare time, Dr. Bishop enjoys marathon running, reading, and traveling.
Jonathan Blackmon, DO
Bio
Dr. Jonathan Blackmon is excited to return to Tennessee as he completed his undergraduate
degree at Covenant College near Chattanooga, Tennessee. Following college, he married
his high school sweetheart, and they embarked on medical school together at VCOM in
Auburn, Alabama. They stayed in Auburn for Internal Medicine residency at East Alabama
Medical Center. Dr. Blackmon’s mother experienced a long journey of treatment for
colon cancer, and his experience walking with her shaped his desire to enter the field
of Hematology-Oncology. His wife will work as a primary care physician in the Memphis
area. He is the father of two boys, who were both born during residency. He enjoys
time with his family, running, and participating in the life of his local church.Â
Richard Huynh, DO
Bio
Dr. Richard Huynh is excited to be staying here at UTHSC-Memphis for his hematology/oncology
fellowship. He attended medical school at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine-Carolinas
Campus and completed his Internal Medicine Residency training at UTHSC-Memphis. He
is married to his beautiful wife and is the father of their adorable King Charles
Cavalier, named Lily. He enjoys playing racket sports, exploring new places and their
food scenes, and spending time with his family.Â
Mark Mitchell, MD
Bio
Dr. Mitchell is excited to remain at UTHSC for his fellowship. He was raised in the
small town of Cornersville, TN, went to college at Lipscomb University and went across
the state to attend medical school at East Tennessee State University. He then attended
UTHSC for his Internal Medicine residency. Dr. Mitchell enjoys spending time with
his family and friends, working with his local church and exploring the outdoors.
